As a resident of Ward 6, you are invited to attend one of two upcoming Ward 6 Budget Meetings to learn more about the City of Mississauga’s 2026 Budget Planning Process and share your feedback. City and Regional budget staff will be on hand to present information and answer questions about how your tax dollars are being budgeted.

These meetings are part of Councillor Horneck’s ongoing work to ensure fiscal responsibility at both the City and Regional levels. Together with Councillor Brad Butt, he recently brought forward two motions at Peel Region which passed unanimously. The measures call for a 2% budget reduction across all departments and a freeze on new staff positions—except for police and paramedics. As Chair of the Audit Committees for both the City and Region, Councillor Horneck is also helping lead efforts to strengthen oversight, including hiring a new Auditor General at the Region.
