Prepare to be charged with excitement as the City is hosting two electric vehicle (EV) events this month – Community EV Day and Plug’n Drive test drives! Now is a great time to dive into the world of EVs, test drive different vehicles and discover which model suits you best!
Community EV Day
Join us on Saturday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Burnhamthorpe Community Centre for the Community EV Day event! Learn about electric vehicles, test drive one on a drop-in basis, and hear from the Mississauga EV Society about the EV ownership experience. You can also explore the City’s electric fleet vehicles, participate in micromobility demonstrations, and discover ways to make Mississauga more sustainable and climate-resilient. Plus, the City’s Forestry team will be there with a tree giveaway. For more details on the EV event, visit mississauga.ca. No bookings needed!
Drive with Us
In partnership with Plug’n Drive, the City is hosting electric vehicle test drives every Thursday to Sunday from June 6 until June 30, 2024 at the Burnhamthorpe Community Centre. Sign up for a 45-minute appointment to learn about the environmental and economic benefits of EVs, ask questions, and take one of the latest models for a spin. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the future of transportation firsthand!
EVs and Climate Impact
As part of the Climate Change Action Plan, the City is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and providing educational resources for residents. One effective action is switching to electric vehicles (EVs). EVs, whether fully electric or hybrid, are efficient, durable, and require less maintenance than traditional gas-powered vehicles. With rising gas costs, EVs can save you money on fuel and reduce carbon emissions by up to 90%. Adopting EVs contributes to a greener, more sustainable future for transportation.
