It’s time to dust off your helmets, pump up your tires, and oil those chains. As part of Mississauga’s 50th anniversary, the City is celebrating Bike Month with cycling activities throughout June. It’s the perfect chance to hop on your bike, learn new skills, and connect with other cyclists in your community. No matter your skill level, cycling is a great way to get outdoor exercise, boost your mood, and explore the city.

Get Your Bike Checked Out

We are running bike clinics at Fix-it events, where mechanics will offer free ABC (air, brakes/bell, and chain/crank arm) checks and other basic repairs like flat tire fixes. Look for the blue Mississauga pop-up tent at various parks and community centres:

  • Mississauga Valley Community Centre on June 5th
  • Clarkson Community Centre on June 13th
  • Streetsville Memorial Park on June 19th
  • Erin Meadows Community Centre on June 27th

Ride with Us

Participate in guided Community Rides, perfect for newcomers to start cycling. These rides offer a chance to experience Mississauga’s cycling infrastructure and meet others in the community, with routes ranging from 8 to 16 kilometres.

Three rides are scheduled in June:

  • River Grove Community Centre on June 1st
  • Malton Community Centre on June 15th
  • Meadowvale Community Centre on June 2nd

There are also workshops like the Skills and Drills Circuit for children on June 11 and the Gear Up/Get Rolling workshop for ages 13+ on June 18 at Mississauga Valley Community Centre.

50 | 50 Challenge

During Bike Month, consider biking to school to promote a healthier lifestyle and reduce your carbon footprint. Join the 50 for 50 challenge to celebrate the City’s 50th anniversary by biking 50 kilometres or 50 minutes, and earn a certificate of accomplishment.
